I was googling for sites about diecast cars, and I found diecast forums! I'm an accidental collector thanks to an accidental inheritance, and I know NOTHING about model cars. So I'm hoping to meet people that can explain the draw of model car collecting to me (I plan on selling off my entire collection of 260+ cars), what kinds of cars they like, and other fun stuff!

Welcome to the forum, Lori!
What makers are your models? I collect vintage diecast myself, maker such as Corgi, Dinky and Matchbox.

Thanks for the welcome Junkman =)
Um...they're mostly 1/18 scale...I have a whole lot of Maistos, with a couple of Ertl's, 2 Sun Star limos, and a bunch of Yat Ming (Road Legends and Road Signature) to make things interesting!
Many of them are duplicates (Like the five turquoise '48 Woodys and the three 2002 Ford Thunderbirds), but I've found that I enjoy the older models of cars from the 30's and 40's more than I do cars from today.

I agree the cars back then had a lot more style, unlike the cars of today.
They were just sleeker...not a whole bunch of bells and whistles to go with the car. My dream is to restore an old couple, like a 40's Plymouth!
Welcome to the forum. Your collection sounds good, don't sell it all, lol.
On second thought, do you have any 1968 Pontiac GTO's in 1:18 scale or anything with a Hemi in 1:24? I'm just asking for parts, you don't have to sell them, lol.
Junkman-> Cars look too bubblish these days. I have a feeling if fuel consumption was not a problem, we'd still be driving american muscle.
yay

Welcome to diecast forums lori.

Thanks Nige....I'm glad to be here!
GC14- I have a whole bunch of '56 GTO Hurst Ed. (both convertible and hardtops), but no '68s!
I really do need to sell the whole collection...I don't have the space for it (it's taking up 3 rooms in the house), and I already took the one car that I really wanted...a Packard convertible in hot pink, black and white! LoL. I also like the Coronet, 'Cuda, and Charger Daytona that are in the collection.

Thanks rockyonrusty08! I'm sure I'll have a bunch! The more I read on here, the more I want to know about model cars (even if I am selling off my collection!).
