My next door neighbor, Mike, is remodeling his home. Perhaps as a token for my consulting with him and holding and fastening some ceiling sheetrock, he gave me this 1/32 scale Kinsmart Volkswagen New Beetle with pull-back action, rear wheel drive. Maybe as a joke? Or maybe my consulting is just Kinsmart quality? At least I didn't DROP the sheetrock! LOL

What caught my immediate attention was the other-worldly paint scheme. He must have found this in some "outer space" of the house. I put the model on the shelf, thanked him, and advised him on what to do next in his remodeling project.

Later, in preparation for detailing, I disassembled the model. It had sheetrock dust in the interior compartment and a big glob of clear silicone on the top of the model. This glob peeled off reluctantly, but the interior cleaned up well. Couldn't remove the seats or the steering wheel as they must have been super glued in. With some black and silver markers used, the VW seems to have some charm even with the weird paint job.

Working on the model was a breeze compared to holding up sheetrock.

Thanks for looking......
