Best diecast muscle car maker?
Who would you rate as the best American muscle car diecast maker in terms of overall value (quality / cost)?
My opinion? Highway 61! While Exact Detail may be better quality, it comes with a price. A $60 1970 Challenger from Highway 61 is extremely hard to beat!

I have to agree regarding quality/cost/. While GMP and Lane make exceptional cars, the prices of them reflect that quality. I only have one highway 61 car (a camaro) and the detail for the price is awesome!

Hi Mark -
I personally think that Lane is better detail than GMP. GMP is Highway 61 detail at a Lane price!

I don't yet own any GMP because of their prices, but I hav eto say of the cars I do own, my two Auto Art (UT) Corvettes are probably the most detailed. Hwy 61 is right up there too, but I am not a fan of the chrome foil and it looks like that's what they use.

RE: Best diecast muscle car maker?
You know, I didn't realize the Highway 61 cars used foil. I've had that car in the box sitting on my shelf for about 6-months, even took it out of the box once and never noticed. (thinks for ruining it for me!) :-)
With my reading glasses on I see can see the foil, but they did a good job on that. I guess I'm going to have to break down and buy a Lane Camaro now, so I have at least one of them to compare things.
The ERTL Authentics Camaros have chrome front and rear window trim - doesn't look like foil to me. The side trim is painted silver. (this is how the GMP car is, too)

Mark, do you have any Lane models? Have you seen them before? Hands down more authentic and detailed!
