Chase cars

Can someone explain exactly what a "chase car" is and tell me if the part numbers are actually different for a chase car than standard productio OR do they use the same number, but just vary the look of the car somehow.

Maybe someone could put together a glossary and make it a sticky post.Big Grin

RE: Chase cars

I don't understand why it's called "chase car" either and my only experience has been with the Ertl chrome models. The item numbers are the same and only one is included per case. From what I've heard, they are not as popular as what manufacturers had hoped and don't warrant the excess cost. I've never seen an Ertl chase car that had good chrome. I thought I was the only one who didn't understand the term and would also like to know why it's called that.
